Flip-side

I make no promise that is easy to keep,
Success in life is often the hardest to reap,
In the war against failure,Odds of a mind accustomed to defeat,
Are minimal as to be minuscule,
Yet the scales tip to favor triumph,
An ordinary man dares to dream, hope awakens, the spirit soars,
Dread disappears as vampires in daylight,
The force of nature then runs its course,
And the adrenalin rush loses its source,
Doubts crowd and push you afar,
The abyss crawled, throws open its arms,
Waiting to swallow your vision of a famed author, a crazed artist or a film star,
Time flies but your mind is trapped,
Trapped in the angst ridden moment,
That carries the news, heads you win and tails you lose
