Skin of Love

What do I miss most?
 Putting my lips to yours,
What has the skin to do with love?
Everything,
Through the tiny pores I experience your touch,
Why do the eyes dissolve in tears?
They can’t bear all that tenderness,
Why does the cool wind sting?
She carries too many memories of yesteryears,
What has changed?
The give and take of promise; the unholy exchange,
Why is the night sky so silent?
It’s my heart singing to yours,
What is the new serenity?
It’s the ripeness of love…
