Like spokes in a wheel,
Each one knowingly, unknowingly,
Give a little of themselves to those around them,
There are spokes that inspire,
And those that drag,
Some give us momentum,
Some cause us to slow down,
The wheel cannot journey without them,
And in all that spinning the spokes wear us down.
It’s not the spoke’s fault,
It’s the wheel, who must know,
Where is it headed,
And who must come along.
The spokes that enthuse, inspire and egg us on,
Are the spokes that make us, shape us,
Into real people than the mere shadows we are,
For we too are spokes of someone’s wheel,
A tiny part of their wonderful journey.
Each one knowingly, unknowingly,
Give a little of themselves to those around them,
There are spokes that inspire,
And those that drag,
Some give us momentum,
Some cause us to slow down,
The wheel cannot journey without them,
And in all that spinning the spokes wear us down.
It’s not the spoke’s fault,
It’s the wheel, who must know,
Where is it headed,
And who must come along.
The spokes that enthuse, inspire and egg us on,
Are the spokes that make us, shape us,
Into real people than the mere shadows we are,
For we too are spokes of someone’s wheel,
A tiny part of their wonderful journey.

I am happy to see the changes and congrats on the domain Ismita.. You are rocking..
Regarding the poem, as usual, the best..
Someone is Special
Spokes of someone's wheel...a part of someone's journey...beautiful lines :):) It reminded me of a piece in Gandhiji's autobiography "A story of my life" I read when I was in school :) :)
Cheers,
@Sispl, Thank you so much! I am glad you noticed the new domain name and layout! A genie did it for me :)
Also, I have mentioned before you spoil me with your praise :)
@Tanvi, Thank you so much for dropping by and hey you seem to be very bright. Anyone who remembers lines from Gandhi & Swami Vivekanand can't be nay less. God bless.
