Not always, but sometimes when I am alone, I am very alone,
Not a leaf sighs with the wind, not a flutter of wings to break the unsettling quiet,
The world that was alive minutes ago goes out like a night switch, plunging the sky into a stupor,
From where I watch, unfathomable are the depths of this darkness, conflicting, incongruous… reassuring,
For, the deeper I fall the safer I feel and the freer I am, to be who I am.
