In this vast, challenging universe,
I am no better or lesser than the person besides me,
I am no one, yet, if I didn’t have a name or a body I would still exist,
By the grace of God and the mechanics of karma,
I am born in a circle, my own sphere of influence,
Its here I can usher in change,
I can be a beacon or I can be a chain,
I can spread joy or hand out pain,
I can be patient and wise or be angry, tell lies,
I can be in awe of creation or be saddened by grief that shrouds mankind,
I can see hunger for love in the eyes of the old and lonely,
Or swallow the bile of my own bitterness,
I can share what I have or hoard for tomorrow,
A tomorrow no one knows or has seen,
A tomorrow that most certainly will be different from the tomorrow of my imagination...
In this vast, challenging universe,
My strength is my prayer,
My strength is the acknowledgement that I am but a fraction of all that is,
Beautiful, ugly, manifest, unmanifest,
God be blessed, in this realization that I am nothing, no one,
From a fraction I become one with Him.
