Fear Is A Dark House

Fear is a dark house,
A house without walls,
Yet, when you walk in through the door,
You find there is no way out.
Trapped inside the darkness,
Voices of your baser selves echo,
Echo so loud that the mind becomes a ticking wall clock,
In this house the voices never rest,
Like ants in a line, they queue up to carry bits of you,
And make their own food pile, from the whole that was once you…
Fear is that dark, debilitating house that has no foundation,
And yet, it’s stronger than anything you've have ever built.
Fear is that house, in which I sometimes live.

The Song of the Sufi Masroof
