Death Like Sleep

The world weights heavy on the shoulders,
Sleep the hand-made quilt,
Thoughts the colourless pebbles,
That splash and sink,
Death like sleep,
Is softly welcoming,
The end closer than we think,
Half dreams, half truth is a comfort,
Time stops,
In nothingness,
Nothing of me exists,
If only for a while,
The night becomes the coffer,
That holds the body still
