Sex has always been such a bedroom thing in India that despite the morbid curiosity people have always found it difficult to speak about it. Reading of course is different; you can bury your nose deep in a book and lap up all that the author has dished out. Here's a toast to the new age Indian authors for bringing Sex out of the bedroom into the morning light.
Like Osho said, 'You weren't born because your parents were deep in prayer or something'.
Here's a sneak peek into Madhuri Banerjee's second book titillatingly titled, 'Mistakes Like Love & Sex'. Her first book, 'Losing My Virginity and Other Dumb Ideas' was such a rage that it remained on the bestseller list for ten weeks and sold about 50,000 copies in the first year of its release. Grab a copy, numbers don’t lie!
After her stint in Barcelona, Kaveri is back in Mumbai to open an
art gallery and to find her dream man. But starting afresh seems to throw her
off completely. Cash strapped and a little lost, she decides to tutor Hindi to
the new, hot and happening Bollywood actress, Bela Bandhan. Suddenly she is drawn into the exciting world
of glitz and glamour which is filled with new friendships and strange industry
folk. She knows she doesn’t belong here, but is irresistibly drawn to it. And
also to the male actor, who is paying extra attention to her!
When a crisis throws Kaveri off, she begins to see the superficial life that she has been leading.
Gradually Kaveri realizes that even though she’s in a relationship with a dreamy older man, True Love has it’s own path.
With fresh hope and a new philosophy, she decides to combine the traditional and the modern by kindling a romance through Twitter and hopes she’s headed in the right direction!
A book about understanding that sometimes we don’t get what we want in life, but we do get something better. All we need to do is be patient and true to ourselves.
