My Mecca

I step out of myself to experience you,
Like a trail of smoke disappears abruptly,
I, too, have felt the wind, its pleasing sting and joyous murmur, stealing my identity,
Like bridges and trees uprooted in a hurricane,
Like rain drops drowning in the sea,
I, too, have found my Mecca in the sonorous chanting of your name.

The Song of the Sufi Masroof
