Ma

Sometimes, when I laugh too hard and sing too loud,
I wonder, if you wonder have I forgotten you,
Time have changed, Ma,
There’s no meal on the table covered with a plate,
No impatient voice calling my name,
Your favourite sofa, where the dog lay by your feet,
Is where I sometimes find myself sitting, gazing at our home from different angles,
Plumping up cushions,  wiping layers of blatant dust settled on your photo-frame.

Times have changed, Ma,
The house looks the same but there are gaps in it,
Invisible gaps that can’t be filled,
Yet, I feel your goodness in the air,
In the shaking of trees and flowing of tears,
Times have changed, Ma, I have changed,
I feel your presence everywhere.

Ma

No, I don't wonder my doll,
For I always imagined you laughing too hard,
And I always heard you sing too loud,
For I always saw around you the goodness that shrouds.

You're my heart walking outside, my child,
I still sit on that sofa, I now eat from your plate,
I love when you clean the photo-frame,
For you know how dust bothered me,
But far more, I know you haven't changed,
Because I know you more than I know me.

There are no gaps, the house and I are the same,
Through the cracks of time are blowing the winds of change,
How dearly I love to see you laugh,
You taken care of, you singing loud is what I ask,
Of course you see me everywhere because I am in you,
I lived for you and I live for you, and will always do.

Have tears in my eyes. Nothing can fill that gap except for memories and the fact she is alive in your heart.

@Sukku, what a lovely statement, 'there's an entire universe on one word Ma'. Bless you!

@Saru,as always you have put it very nicely, 'alive in my heart' :)

Touched.

In your words, I see Saint Kabir everywhere. So clear, so real and so alive.

Our prayers, God, and Ma are always with you.
