One of the greatest truths about life is,
That you don’t always get what you want,
In the beginning, it looks like a bad thing,
Time is awfully slow in passing,
Dark nights become the kohl in your eyes and tears shimmer
like stars,
While, the whole world is bursting crackers,
Your place is quiet as a funeral home,
The doors and windows are open, but there’s this stink of
loneliness,
The night breeze is quick to chase it away, only for it to
have returned full force,
When it looks like it’ll never end, the momentum of wanting
stops,
There’s no great revelation or that suddenly life has taken
a good turn,
You are standing right there, in that very spot,
From where you have been trying to crawl out,
Nothing has changed, it seldom does, except seasons, emotions
and the whole mad world.
What is different, is you.
