Twin Windows To The Soul

If you can still the eye,
And yet, fill it with the colour of the sky,
The flight of a bird,
The greenery of grass,
The silence of trees,
The flutter of a butterfly,
The coolness of the breeze as it dries the sweat off your brows,
if seeing what you see makes the eyes brim with goodness,
And a strange, unshakable, calm descends,
Descends of its own accord,
Then these twin windows to the soul,
Have in this momentary stillness found their true home

The Song of the Sufi Masroof
