Not Quite Blue

In haste, the bridge is broken,
The sky’s no longer blue,
In asking, the beggar is turned away,
His heart’s no longer true,
In greed, the jar is empty, though it appears to be full.
There are many ways to lose Him, and not know how or why,
When the beauty of the sunset and the play of tiny birds goes unnoticed,
When a light breeze fails to coax you, the pale evening light gives no joy,
Know that he has distanced Himself from you, and that’s why the sky’s not quite blue,
And you are not quite you...
